Seriously… these are the three chores you really don’t want to be skipping!
Home cleaning chores you shouldn’t ignore!
I like my home to be clean and tidy – I’m not a total germaphobe though – I take a more laid back approach to cleaning where I can – I like to use eco cleaning products and methods where appropriate and maintain a generally good level of cleanliness… BUT… there’s certain household chores I never skip
Cleaning the toilets and bathroom
Toilets and bathrooms are literally rammed with germs! Bacteria, viruses and fungus just love the place! So I clean them daily. Check out the germ count for difference areas of your bathroom over on SafeHome – it’s surprising reading!
So keeping this in mind – I do a daily clean of the toilet, bath, sink and shower and tend to use Dettol bathroom cleaning products because they kill 99% of bacteria and virus.

Changing the beds
Bed sheets not only soak up sweat but they become a total breeding ground for bacteria and fungus in literally days! According to a microbiologist here’s what happens when you don’t wash the sheets! It’s scary reading, right?
So first up – wash the bedding at least once a week to keep the bed fresh and clean and air the bed daily. Here’s how to air the bed and why it’s a good thing!
Clean the fridge
According to Huffpost and Microban the average fridge can harbour a whole host of dangerous bacteria… including e.coli, salmonella and listeria. Urgh! And that’s where you keep your food!
That’s why I clean the fridge out weekly a thorough clean – emptying all the contents, puling out all the drawers and shelves and washing them in hot soapy water. You can grab our fridge cleaning guide here.
