It’s hard to find time to exercise when you’re looking after kids, working, or both, but it’s really important to squeeze in time to get fit and healthy. Not only is it good for you but it’s also great for the kids, they’ll love to spend the time with you and it sets a fab example.
And the best bit about exercising with the kids is it’s FUN! No boring gym classes just mainly fresh air and fun, basically just like being a big kid yourself.
Here’s our top 5 fun ways to get fit with the kids.
1. Play ball games
We’re talking football and dodgeball here, ball games, frisbee, anything where you’ve really got to shift your ass. And guess what? Thirty minutes of this burns me around 150 calories!
2. Bike ride
Kids love going for bike rides and even if you’ve not got bikes there’s lots of places hire them out. Take a look over at the National Trust Cycle Hire. It’s brilliant exercise and great fun.
3. Hiking and walking
Getting out into the fresh air and off to explore nature is a great way to stay fit. Get your boots, some drinks and snacks and head off to climb a hill or two. Or take advantage of the kids latest Pokemon hunting craze and get them out chasing Pokemon.
Build a wild and crazy dance session into your day. We like to squeeze this in after we’ve cleared up dinner. Music up loud and just dance! You could even create play lists of all your favourite dance music.
You can bounce loads of ways! Trampolining, at home or at a jump centres, space hopper races, moon bouncers or even just skipping.
