For those of us ‘up north’ Blackpool is an iconic seaside destination, the place you head for if you’re wanting to keep the kids mad busy and just have a huge mountain of fun times! A place for making memories and enjoying a brilliant traditional seaside fun. Oh.. and if you’re not from ‘up north’ it’s well worth making the trip.
Visit Blackpool and Merlin Entertainments have teamed up and launched a summer campaign to prove #BlackpoolHasItAll for families to showcase Blackpool’s collection of world renowned, family attraction brands and offers.
Not only does Blackpool have some awesome attractions but also a stunning blue flag beach with soft golden sand that’s perfect for building sandcastles.
Starting the weekend in Madam Tussauds, spotting celebrities, sauntering around with royalty and overusing the selfie stick…
Madam Tussauds is a fab place to spend a morning, the selfie-mad kids took photos with every single wax figure… they loved it!
Heading straight on over to Blackpool Tower with the kids super excited to get up to the Blackpool Tower Eye and head out onto the SkyWalk… can’t say I was as keen, I enjoyed the view without stepping a foot on that glass… or looking down! The trip up the tower starts with a brilliant 4D cinema showing, then you head on over to the lifts and up you go…

No trip to Blackpool is complete without seaside fish and chips, Harry Ramsden’s inside Blackpool Tower didn’t disappoint, just feast your eyes on this plateful! Really child friendly place to eat, nice happy, helpful staff and really clean and spacious.
An afternoon spent hopping on and off trams and playing on the beautiful beach.
Then off to the circus, it’s the first time I’ve been to the Blackpool Tower circus and it is awesome! Proper old-style family entertainment, the way it’s been for years and the way it should always stay! The circus performers ooze a magical vintage charm and the kids couldn’t take their eyes off the amazing acts!
Day two of our ‘Blackpool’athon’ and we headed over to Blackpool Zoo. It’s a lovely zoo, plenty of animals to see and lots of shows to go to. Perfect for families with young children, everything is easily accessible with prams and there’s lots of space for the kids to run about or to enjoy a picnic and a fab play park.
These guys were our favourite! Just how cute are they?
We finished the weekend up over in the Pleasure Beach making a bee line to Nickelodeon Land with the Spongebob Crazy five year old! Nickelodeon Land is just perfect for smaller children (or those who just don’t fancy the big fast rides). It’s packed with loads of fun rides and you can ride them alongside your child. Even if there is a long queue they go down fast and there’s not a whole lot of waiting around.
The Pleasure Beach is a brilliant place to spend a day, it’s just packed to bursting with brilliant rides and traditional fair ground games. And if you’re hungry, you’re literally spoilt for choice.
Merlin Entertainments asked us to try out their Blackpool Resort Pass Plus which is one pass that gives you entry to eight brilliant attractions (one entry per attraction). You can use the pass over a 7 day time period so it’s brilliant value for those staying in and around Blackpool for a few days.

You can even add bolt-ons to your pass, like shows and event tickets, transport and parking, even food deals which means it’s easier for you to budget and you know exactly what you’ll be spending up front.
If you’ve not visited Blackpool in a while it’s definitely time to get back there. The attractions are clean, good value, brilliant fun the beaches beautiful and the kids will just LOVE IT! A fabulous place to spend a few days purely having fun, rain or shine! #BlackpoolHasItAll
