Equipment Needed

  • Air Fryer – we use a Ninja Foodi Max Dual Zone Air Fryer – the 9.5 litre two drawer cooking space is BRILLIANT when you’re cooking for a family. And it makes cooking meat, chicken or fish and potatoes at the same time super easy!
  • Food thermometer – I totally recommend getting yourself a food thermometer, especially for air frying chicken, it really gives me peace of mind when cooking. I like to know that food is cooked to the correct temperature.

What To Serve With Chicken Flatbreads

These spicy little chicken flatbreads go with loads of different side dishes – we’ve popped some of our favourite ideas below for you to mix and match.

Recipe Tips And Ingredient Swaps For Our Air Fryer Chicken Flatbread Recipe

Swap the flavours

Try seasoning the chicken with Mexican taco seasoning, Greek seasoning, Italian herb mix or go for a Chinese vibe or make BBQ chicken flatbreads or buffalo chicken flatbread. Swap the salads and sauces (BBQ sauce, buffalo sauce, hoisin sauce, tzatziki) to match your theme.

Swap the protein, try marinated Salmon or Halloumi

You could try swapping out the chicken pieces and using salmon or sliced halloumi – both of these go great on a flatbread with salad.

Add in some cheese

Chicken and cheese are a great match! Feel free to throw some cheese onto your flatbread – try mozzarella cheese, tangy cheddar cheese, feta cheese or blue cheese.

Add some air fried vegetables

Try air frying some bell peppers, onions or zucchini (courgette) and throwing them onto your flatbreads too.

Make ahead

You can marinate the chicken and leave it in the fridge for the day and cook when you get home. Prep the salad in advance too so all that’s left for you to do is air fry the chicken and assemble your flatbreads.

How to store leftovers

Any leftover chicken can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for use within 24 hours. We usually use the leftover tandoori chicken for salad bowls or sandwiches.
