Cooking our air fryer chicken kebabs is win-win for dinner - here's why!
- You can marinate the chicken in advance, either the night before or the morning of the day you're cooking them. Then just thread them onto the kebab sticks and air fry.
- The air fryer is just super convenient to use – and costs less than using the traditional electric oven or grill as it’s only heating a small space.
- Our air fry kebabs are really versatile, you can marinate them using any flavours you like - we've popped extra flavour ideas down below.

Equipment Needed
- Air fryer – we use a Ninja Foodi Max Dual Zone Air Fryer - the 9.5 litre two drawer cooking space is BRILLIANT when you're cooking for a family or like to cook larger portions. And it makes cooking meat, chicken or fish and potatoes at the same time super easy!
- Teaspoon
- Tablespoon
- Mixing bowl
- 12 kebab sticks - the 9cm kebab sticks makes 12 mini skewers and fit easily in the air fryer basket.
- Tongs – just makes it easier to lift the kebabs from the air fryer basket. If you do lots of air frying, I'd recommend you get yourself a set of silicone tongs. They're great for flipping and removing food, and don't scratch the air frying non-stick coating.
- Food thermometer – I totally recommend getting yourself a food thermometer, especially for air frying, it really gives me peace of mind when cooking. I like to know that food is cooked to the right temperature.

Ingredients For Air Fryer Chicken Kebabs
You'll only need five ingredients to make a batch of our spicy chicken air fry kebabs!

- 4 chicken breasts - diced into small bitesized pieces so they cook quickly
- 1 tablespoon (heaped) tomato puree
- 1 tablespoon (heaped) tomato ketchup - the sugar in the ketchup give the kebabs the charred kebab vibe!
- 2 teaspoon curry powder - just choose mild, medium or hot
- ½ teaspoon chilli flakes - more if you like your kebabs with a kick of heat

How To Make Chicken Kebabs In The Air Fryer
It's super easy to make these chicken skewers and because they air fry, there's no added fat, so they're a healthy dinner option too!
Step One - marinate the chicken breast pieces
- Add the diced chicken breast to a mixing bowl.
- Tip in the tomato ketchup, tomato puree, curry powder and chilli flakes.
- Give everything a mix together so that all the chicken breast is coated in spicy flavours.

Cooks Note! Once marinated, you can leave the chicken in the fridge for up to 16 hours for the flavours to develop.
Step Two - make the chicken kebabs
- Soak the wooden kebab sticks in water for at least an hour just before using. This helps to stop them splintering when you thread the chicken and it helps to stop them burning as they cook.
- Thread the chicken pieces onto the skewers.

Step Three - cook the air fryer chicken kebabs
- Place the air fry chicken kebabs into the air fryer basket, keep them spaced, you may need to cook these in two batches or use two drawers on the air fryer.
Cooks Note! Be sure to stay by the air fryer, and keep an eye on the wooden kebab sticks to avoid any accidents like them burning!
How long to cook chicken kebabs in air fryer?
- Cook the kebabs on 200C for around 15 minutes, turning them all over at around 8 minutes cooking time. Once they've been cooking for 15 minutes check if they're cooked through properly (see note below)

Cooks Note! If your chicken pieces are larger then they may take longer to cook. Check the internal core temperature of the chicken after 15 minutes using a food thermometer - it should be at least 75C and there should be no pink chicken or juices. If they're not quite ready, just continue to cook and check them every 2-3 minutes to see if they're ready.

Step Four - serve the air fry chicken kebabs
- Lift the kebabs from the air fryer using tongs and then serve with your favourite side dishes.
