Equipment Needed

  • Air fryer – we use a  Ninja Foodi Max Dual Zone Air Fryer – the 9.5 litre two drawer cooking space is BRILLIANT when you’re cooking for a family. And it makes cooking larger portions of meat, chicken or fish and potatoes at the same time super easy!
  • Food thermometer – I totally recommend getting yourself a food thermometer, especially for air frying, it really gives me peace of mind when cooking. I like to know that food is cooked to the right temperature.
  • Mixing bowl
  • American measuring cups
  • Tablespoon
  • Chopping board
  • Vegetable knife
  • Silicone cooking spoon – so you don’t scratch the air fryer lining when serving up!

What To Serve With Air Fry Chicken Stir Fry For Dinner

Okay, so when we are keeping this a quick dinner, we usually add Tilda microwave egg fried rice sachets, because they cook in TWO MINUTES and who doesn’t love that for a lazy weeknight?!

I also add in some prawn crackers and sweet chilli dipping sauce, because it’s so delicious.

If you wanted to add in some extra veggies, but quickly, then I’d opt for the Birds Eye steam fresh bags you can ping in the microwave, to keep it speedy.

If you have time you could serve with some stir fry vegetables.

Recipe Tips And Ingredient Add-Ins

Really make this recipe your own and add in or swap any of the ingredients you like!

Opt for different stir fry sauce – you can try any flavor dipping sauce you like, we like this chicken stir fry made with sweet chilli sauce, for a little extra kick! You can even do half, half with one flavor in one drawer and one in the other drawer!

Add in some extra veggies – feel free to mix in some extra veggies, just try to keep it so the food cooks in one layer in the basket. Try adding in broccoli, mushrooms or carrot ribbons. You can also add some fresh grated garlic and ginger into the marinade if you have the time.

Skip the egg fried rice – you can serve this air fryer chicken stir fry with brown rice, cauliflower rice, egg noodles or even in a wrap if you like.

Swap the chicken breasts – you could try making this using a different protein, try skinless chicken thighs fillets, thin strips of beef steak, tofu or shrimp, just adjust the cooking times accordingly.

Make it gluten free – to make this recipe gluten free just be sure to use gluten free sauces and ingredients.

Love your leftovers – any leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator. We usually use leftovers to make a Chinese style salad or put into wraps with bang bang coleslaw.
