  • Then firstly, cook at 160C on the air fryer setting. This just ensures that the middles of the wedges are cooked through and softened, before we crisp up the outer skins. Give the basket a shake every 6-7 minutes or so, this will help them cook more evenly.

  • After 20 minutes of cooking, shake the wedges again, then return to the Ninja air fryer and cook at 200C on the air fryer setting for around 15-20 minutes or until they’re golden, crisping on the outside and smelling delicious!

  • Tip the air fryer potato wedges onto a serving platter. We usually add a dip on the platter too – blue cheese, garlic mayonnaise or ketchup are all great with these Italian wedges.

Air Fryer Potato Wedges – Cooking Tips!

How long should wedges be in the air fryer?

Freshly made wedges need to be cooked for around 35 minutes in the air fryer. The first 20 minutes at a low temperature to cook the middles, then a high temperature for the last 15 minutes to crisp up the outsides.

Frozen potato wedges usually take around 20 minutes to cook through – but do check the packet for full cooking instructions.

Why are my air fryer wedges not crispy?

If your air fryer wedges are not crispy its usually because you over-crowded the basket or you didn’t cook them at a high enough temperature.

Should I soak potato wedges in water before air frying?

We don’t soak the wedges in water first, it’s not really necessary with this recipe.

Do potato wedges need par boiling first?

Not with this recipe, the initial cook time at a low temperature makes sure the middles are cooked so no par-boiling is necessary.
