Equipment Needed To Make Air Fryer Wedges

  • Air Fryer – we use a Ninja Foodi Max Dual Zone Air Fryer – the 9.5 litre two drawer cooking space is BRILLIANT when you’re cooking for a family. And it makes cooking meat, chicken or fish and potatoes at the same time super easy!
  • Chopping board 
  • Vegetable knife 
  • Mixing bowl 
  • Tablespoon
  • Teaspoon

Air Fryer Wedges Ingredients

You’ll only need three ingredients and a pinch of salt to make these peri peri spiced potato wedges

  • 4 large potatoes – we used King Edwards – but Maris Piper and Desiree make great air fryer wedges too.
  • 1 tbsp olive oil – you can switch this for sunflower or rapeseed oil if you prefer.
  • 2 tsp peri peri seasoning – we use homemade peri peri seasoning, but you can just use ready made seasoning from the shop. This can be quite a spicy seasoning mix, so if you’re not a fan of hot and spicy, use a little less seasoning.
  • Pinch of salt

How To Make Air Fryer Wedges With Peri Peri Seasoning

You’ll simply LOVE how easy these spicy potato wedges are to make! 

Step One – slice the potatoes into wedges 

  • Peel and slice the potatoes into halves lengthways, then slice each half into wedges, you should get around 4-6 wedges from each half a potato.
  • Tip the wedges into a mixing bowl ready to season.

Step Two – season the wedges 

  • Pour the olive oil over the potato wedges and scatter over the peri peri seasoning and add a pinch of salt. 
  • Use your hands to toss the potatoes in the olive oil and seasoning so that they’re all coated with delicious spicy flavours.

Step Three – cook the air fryer wedges

  • Tip the wedges into the air fryer basket.

  • Then firstly, cook at 160C on the air fryer setting for 20 minutes. This makes sure that the middles of the wedges are cooked through and softened, before we crisp up the outer skins. Honestly your wedges will be so much better cooking them this way! Give the basket a shake every 7-8 minutes or so, this will help them cook more evenly.
  • After 20 minutes of cooking, shake the wedges again, then return to the Ninja air fryer and cook at 200C on the air fryer setting for around 15-20 minutes or until they’re golden, crisping up deliciously on the edges and soft in the centres.

Step Four – serve the air fryer wedges 

  • Tip the air fryer potato wedges onto a serving platter or into a bowl and serve alongside your favourite meal.
