We’ve been keeping a close eye on interior trends for AW17 and we’re loving the vibe that’s coming through. We’ve picked out a few of our favourite key features.
Grey is the new neutral
We just can’t get enough of the grey palette for home interiors and with so many different shades to choose from we want it everywhere! Living room, bedroom, hallway and even in the kitchen. Decorating with a grey palette gives rooms a naturally beautiful neutral vibe, one that feels fresh and is lovely to be in.
One of the best features of decorating using shades of grey is that it’s a great backdrop for using either bold pops of colour or for keeping things neutral and mixing in other natural colours and shades to create a calm and tranquil theme.
Midnight blue colour pop
Moody, atmospheric and totally decadent, adding a splash of midnight blue will instantly update your space. Think about using it to create a glamorous feature wall, or in lighting or accessories, perhaps a scattering of midnight blue or indigo cushions could instantly update a tired sofa.
We think copper will feature nicely throughout AW17. Expect to see it used as furniture trims, coffee tables, lamp bases, picture frames or vases. With it’s warm tones either dull or super shiny, we think this is a fab way to add an instant update to your home decor.
Adding an instant wow factor to a room with a statement light is another trend we think you’ll see through the coming season for home decor. Adding a statement light from lampcommerce is one of the easiest ways to instantly lift a room, with a fabulous range of simply stunning lighting available we were drawn to the Fabbian brand of lights, these bold statement lights will definitely zhuzh-up your space.
Chunky knit accessories
Autumn and winter naturally lend themselves to snuggly accessories and this year certainly won’t disappoint. There’s simply loads of gorgeous chunkily knitted products, think huge, oversized knitted blankets and throws, perfect for snuggling up with on the sofa or as an extra warming layer for the bedroom.
You’ll see plenty of beautiful knitted pouffes, these are a relatively inexpensive buy and give a living room a fashionably cosy touch. And if you can throw a few knitted cushions onto the sofa or bed too, you’ll be bringing your room bang up to date.
Pastel pink accent colour
If midnight blue is too dark for you, think about adding a pastel pink accent colour to your rooms. Pastel colours work particularly well in the bedroom, and are super easy to incorporate.
It can be as effortless as refreshing your bedding and investing in a pastel pink bedding set. Maybe adding a pastel pink throw or some scatter cushions. To pack more of a punch think about adding a statement chair. Perhaps adding a pastel pink feature wall or window dressing may suit your space.
