Okay – let’s start with the basics – it’s super easy to throw together hummus it’s just a case of blitzing a handful of ingredients together in the food processor. Basic hummus ingredients are…
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1 tin chickpeas
- 1 heaped tbs tahini
- 3 tbs olive oil
- juice of a lemon
- salt to taste
Throw them in the blender and blitz until smooth – done. Easy huh?
Then once you’ve got the basics you can go all out fancy and flavour your hummus up in loads of different ways – it’s just a matter of adding in the extra ingredients, spices, herbs or whatever you fancy. Try Lemon and Coriander, Smoked Paprika, Roast Red Pepper, Cumin Spiced… the list is endless.
Beetroot hummus recipe
Our beetroot hummus is super simple and comes with a sweet chilli kick that’s just so good! We use baby beets in a sweet chilli dressing and swap out the olive oil for sesame oil for a nuttier flavour.

Ingredients

- 2 tbs sesame oil
- juice of a lemon
- 1 heaped tbs tahini
- 150g sweet chilli baby beetroot
