A Bloody Mary is literally the only cocktail you can serve easily alongside brunch. A classic little mix up of tomato juice, vodka and a kick of heat.

Mermaid Salt Vodka

The Mermaid Salt Vodka from The Isle of Wight Distillery is in my opinion made for mixing into a Bloody Mary cocktail!

The Isle of Wight Distillery is the islands first and only distillery. They lovingly craft and create a range of spirits inspired by their stunning natural surroundings. Often using locally sourced ingredients to flavour and enhance their spirits.

Mermaid Salt Vodka has a pinch of locally sourced sea salt, which gives it just a hint of lingering saltiness on your lips. Making it the perfect vodka to mix into a Bloody Mary which demands a salty tang.

How to make a Bloody Mary from scratch

  • First add your ice cubes to a small mixing jug
  • Pour in the Mermaid Salt Vodka, the tomato juice and the lemon juice. Then stir together gently.
  • Next add a dash of Worcestershire Sauce and Tobacco sauce – just a dash, you can always add a little more once you’ve tasted it, because you don’t want it to be overpowering.
  • Add just a tiny pinch of celery salt (if using) and then stir again gently.
  • Pour into a glass (with or without ice – just how you prefer it) and garnish with a celery stick and wedge of lemon on the side.
