Chorizo Hash – Easy Brunch Recipe

Our flavourful Chorizo Hash is finished with perfectly fried eggs, and is one brunch idea you won’t be able to resist. The combination of spicy chorizo, crispy potatoes, and rich, runny egg yolks creates a breakfast you’ll just LOVE!

Cooking Our Chorizo Hash For Brunch Is A Good Thing, Here’s Why! 

Easy To Make – you can use leftover boiled potatoes or even chopped up roast potatoes to make our easy breakfast hash recipe. So it’s just a matter of throwing a few ingredients in a pan and frying them up. Yummy!

Hearty And Filling – mmmm this is one brunch that’ll keep you satisfied right through until dinnertime. And if you serve with a side of crusty bread for mopping up the egg and smoky paprika spiked juices, it’s even more filling and delicious!

Super Tasty – well…it’s got chorizo mingled through the pan hash, and everything is better with chorizo, right?

Versatile – we’ve given you a great basic recipe for chorizo hash, but you can add in (or take out) any ingredients you fancy.

Equipment Needed

  • Chopping board
  • Knife
  • Frying pan
  • Wooden spoon (or other cooking spoon)

Ingredients For Chorizo Hash

You’ll only need a handful of ingredients to make this easy brunch recipe (plus any extras you fancy)

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 onion – peeled and diced
  • 1 clove garlic – peeled and chopped
  • 100g chorizo – chopped (you could save time here and buy chorizo crumbs or a pack of diced chorizo to save time chopping)
  • 300g cooked potatoes – chopped into bitesized pieces – boiled, roast, air fried – any potatoes you have leftover from the night before, and if you have none – just quickly boil and dice some ready to fry.
  • Pinch of chilli flakes (optional)

How To Make Chorizo Hash

Our chorizo and potato hash is super easy to make and delicious to eat.

Step One – fry the onions and garlic

  • Add the olive oil to a frying pan over a medium heat and tip in the onions and garlic, fry them for around 5 minutes until they start to soften.

Step 2 – add the chorizo

  • Tip the chopped chorizo into the frying pan with the onions and garlic and fry for 2-3 minutes so that the lovely paprika spiked flavours are released and infuse the olive oil.

Step Three – add the cooked potatoes

  • Tip the cooked potatoes into the pan and continue to fry for around 5-6 minutes until they’re heated through properly.

Step Four – crack in the eggs into the chorizo hash

  • Make two spaces in the pan by pushing the ingredients to the sides, then crack in the eggs and leave them to cook through to your liking. We usually add a sprinkling of chilli flakes to the tops of the eggs as they cook.

Step Five – serve the chorizo hash

Just carry the pan to the table, and dig in, serve with crusty bread, plenty of coffee and some fresh orange juice on the side. Enjoy your brunch!
