Coverless Duvet Review
The Fine Bedding Company sent over a Night Owl® coverless duvet for us to try out here at Daisies & Pie. And we really like to put things to the test so we'll run through how to wash it too, in our laundry tips below.
The coverless duvet comes in single, double and king size. You can buy it in 10.5 tog and a summer 4.5 tog. So there's a size and tog for every bed.
What Did We Thing Of The Coverless Quilt?
So, first up, we like that it arrives in a neat little storage bag. This is a brilliant idea. As it makes it easy to store when not in use, so you could have two on rotation, with one on the bed and one clean and stored away compactly ready to use.

And when opened out and spread over the bed, we were impressed with the finish, it's just as high quality as you would expect from a duvet cover.
We liked the herringbone detailing too. It's easy to mix and match with other bedding items. And the trim just gives it a stylish finish.

How Easy Is It To Put A Coverless Duvet On The Bed?
Well, it's literally just a matter of shaking it out of the bag, spreading it over the bed and smoothing it out, pulling it neat from the corners. So, it's super simple!
We liked how it looked, and it was cosy, soft and just perfect for snuggling under.

How To Wash A Coverless Duvet?
We definitely like to keep bedding fresh and clean, so being able to wash and dry the duvet is super important, because the fresh bed feeling is just unbeatable!

The coverless duct can be washed at 40C at home in a regular 7kg capacity washing machine (note - the 10.5 tog king size quilt needs a large 10kg capacity washing machine)
And, yes it can be tumble dried and actually dries in as little as 90 minutes!

It washed really well, and it did actually dry in 90 minutes in the tumble drier, which is literally as fast as a regular set of cotton bedding would take.
We also washed and air dried it, so that we could compare the length of time. And left spread over a clothes airer overnight, in a warm room it was dry by morning. And we imagine that once the weather is better and you can hang laundry on the washing line outside it'll dry nicely on the line too.
We did actually quite like the idea of washing the entire duvet and not just the cover. It seems more hygienic and if you suffer from dust mite allergies or asthma, and dust is a trigger, then washing the entire duvet can only be a good thing.
