Easy Air Fryer Chicken Wings

Use the air fryer to make crispy-skinned buffalo chicken wings. You’ll only need a few ingredients to make this tasty chicken dish!

If you’re looking for a way to make easy buffalo wings, but without deep frying, then you’ll love these easy air fryer chicken wings.

Air frying gives them a nice crispy skin on the outside, tender, juicy, succulent chicken on the inside, plus you can flavour them any way you like!

Making Air Fried Chicken Wings Is A Good Thing, Here’s Why!

  • You can cook up a batch of chicken wings in the air fryer in around 15 minutes. A lot less time than they take to cook in the regular kitchen oven.
  • Air frying crisps up the skin better than regular oven cooking.
  • No need to marinate, just season and air fry.
  • Chicken wings are a budget purchase, you can get tray’s full of them for just a few pounds. So they’re great for adding protein to meals the low cost way. It’s one of our favourite air fryer chicken recipes.

Equipment Needed

  • Teaspoon
  • Bowl 
  • Air Fryer – we use a Tefal air fryer (Little update – we’ve gone BIGGER! We’ve swapped to a Ninja Foodi Max Dual Zone Air Fryer – the 9.5 litre two drawer cooking space is BRILLIANT when you’re cooking for a family or cook larger portions. And it makes cooking meat, chicken or fish and potatoes at the same time super easy!)
  • Tongs – I’d recommend getting yourself a set of silicone tongs if you do lots of air frying. They’re rally useful and don’t scratch the air fryer non-stick coating.
  • Food thermometer – I totally recommend getting yourself a food thermometer, especially for air frying, it really gives me peace of mind when cooking. I like to know that food is cooked to the right temperature.

Air Fryer Chicken Wings Ingredients

You’ll only need three ingredients to make these easy chicken wings in the air fryer

  • 750g chicken wings (around 10 wings)
  • 3 tsps Buffalo seasoning
  • pinch of salt

How To Make Chicken Wings In The Air Fryer

You’ll love how simple this recipe is!

Step One – season the chicken wings

  • Tip the wings into a large bowl.
  • Sprinkle the buffalo seasoning and a pinch of salt over the chicken wings. Toss everything together to coat this chicken skin with the flavours.

Step Two air fry the chicken wings

  • Arrange the chicken wings in the air fryer basket in a single layer. You may have to cook these in two batches or use both drawers if you have a double air fryer.

Step Three – how long to cook chicken wings in the air fryer

  • Depending on the size of the wings, they can be cooked in the air fryer on 200C in around 15 minutes (larger wings will take longer)

Step Four – serve the buffalo wings

  • Remove the wings from the air fryer using tongs, then serve alongside your favourite side dishes.

A super easy way to make crispy skinned chicken wings in the air fryer

Ingredients

  • 750g chicken wings
  • 3 tsp buffalo seasoning
  • pinch salt

Instructions

  1. Tip the wings into a large bowl.
  2. Sprinkle the buffalo seasoning and a pinch of salt over the chicken wings. Toss everything together to coat this chicken skin with the flavours.
  3. Arrange the chicken wings in the air fryer basket in a single layer. You may have to cook these in two batches or use both drawers if you have a double air fryer.
  4. Depending on the size of the wings, they can be cooked in the air fryer on 200C in around 15 minutes (larger wings will take longer - so continue to cook until cooked through)
  5. Always check chicken is cooked through properly before eating.
  6. Remove the wings from the air fryer using tongs, then serve alongside your favourite side dishes.
