The ultimate Easy Easter Cake! Our easy Easter mini egg cake is perfect for when you want to make a cake but without a whole lot effort!

I hold my hands up this is a really easy Easter bake idea! I think when you’re a busy parent then you’ve got to cut corners where necessary just to fit everything into your day.

It’s made with quick and easy cheat ingredients! This chocolate Easter cake is packed to bursting with cheat ingredients. And I’m not even going to apologise for how cheat-y and easy this Easter egg cake is to make.

Easy Easter Cake Ingredients

To make our mini egg Easter bake you will need…

  • 425g pack of Betty Crocker Red Velvet Cake mix (you can swap this for vanilla sponge, carrot cake or chocolate cake)
  • 400g tub of Betty Crocker Vanilla Icing – you can swap this for any frostings you like
  • 1 pack of large Malteser Bunnies
  • 1 pack mini Malteser Bunnies
  • 200g Cadbury mini eggs
  • Anything else you fancy throwing on – hey, this is your spring cake, you add on what you like – fancy some glitter? Throw it on, want some sprinkles, then shake away. Do it your way!

How To Make Easy Easter Cake

You’ll just LOVE how easy this mini egg chocolate cake is to make!

Step One – make the cake

  • Mix up and bake the Betty Crocker red velvet cake as per the box instructions.

Step Two – cover the cake in icing

  • Once the cake is cool, cover in the vanilla icing, no need to be neat here, just slap it on, let the kids get involved.

Step Three – decorate the cake with Easter themed decorations

  • Decorate the cake with chocolate bunnies, mini eggs and anything else you want. (see we told you it was easy!)

Make An Easter Cake Your Way

Helpful recipe tips and ingredient swaps you can make to your chocolate Easter Cake

Make your own sponge cake – if you prefer homemade cake try our easy chocolate cake here. Or make this using carrot cake, lemon cake or coconut cake.

Choose different frostings – you could use homemade buttercream, cream cheese frosting, or any packet of ready made cake frosting you like.
