Fika – the Swedish custom of taking a break with coffee and cake whilst chatting to friends, family or colleagues. What’s not to love?
Ever since I read about the Swedish custom of Fika I’ve been hooked on the idea. I mean, just how lovely is the mandatory downing of tools to sit and drink coffee and eat homemade cakes whilst chatting. It’s exactly what we all need more of in life.
And so I made it happen. Everyday from 3:30, I sit down with the kids, mobile away, laptop away and we gather around the table, drink coffee, or hot chocolate and eat cake. We chat about the day and just enjoy the moment and it’s a good thing.
Now if you’re going to eat cake everyday…. here’s a few to try out
