Equipment Needed

  • Non-stick frying pan
  • Spatula or fish slice
  • Toaster
  • Plate

Fried Egg On Toast Ingredients

You'll need just four simple ingredients to make our easy eggs on toast

  • 1 tablespoon sunflower oil - or you can use butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 slice of bread - we use sourdough because it makes just the nicest toast!
  • 20g butter - optional, you can keep your toast un-buttered as the fried egg is greasy and that will soak into the toast. However... we just love the toast buttered!

How To Fry An Egg

Okay... it's super easy, to fry an egg - people tend to have their own little way of doing things, but here's ours!

  • Heat the sunflower oil in the non-stick pan over a medium to high heat.
  • Crack the egg into the pan. If you're not confident at this, crack it into a small cup then slide it into the pan.
  • Let the egg white turn from clear and runny to firmer and white.
  • Use the spatula to flick hot oil over the top of the egg, this helps the egg to set and cook more quickly.
  • Once the egg is firm, slide the spatula underneath the egg and flip it over for just a few seconds to cook the top to your liking.
