Small urban living means I haven’t got a room dedicated to a home office but I’m trying to work out where I can squeeze in a work space and hopefully do a mini-makeover to give me an office!
First things first though, with any new project comes some frantic Pinterest action. I’m just a little bit in love with all the work spaces on my Home Office Pinterest board. And once the pinning is under way, next comes the virtual shopping and the mood board building.
I’ll talk you through my *wish list* – You’ll want it ALL.
First up is this beautiful industrial chic desk from Maisons du Monde. The Edison desk has the contemporary urban design I just love. It’s handcrafted finish with featured irregularities and exposed welding give it an elegant simple look. Perfect for styling up with a pop of colour or maintaining the minimal industrial look and pairing with a simple white chair. The Edison desk is priced at £269.
Then when it comes to draws I’m jumping from the industrial metal look, although keeping things nice and natural with these simply beautiful solid wood draws from Loaf. The Rolly draws have a gorgeous deconstructed style with the draw runners visible, hand crafted in a lovely distressed fir these draws would be perfect as extra office storage. And oh so strokable. You can get your hands on some Rolly draws from Loaf priced at £245.
Chair wise I’m liking the GREGOR swivel chair priced at £75 from IKEA. I just love the wicker back and it would complement and bring together both the Edison desk and Rolly draws so well. Although I love the white, I’m thinking I’m going to need a zingy pop of colour, maybe a teal cushion…
And now we get to a few nice accessories (not stationery…. not yet… that’s a whole lot more shopping!)
I love the Churnie storage pots from Loaf. These fun little storage pots inspired by the old milk churns come in a set of three, priced at £45. I want one filled with wild flowers, one filled with an array of gorgeous coloured pens and one filled with chocolate, Lindt please. The ideal addition to any work space I’d say.
I adore this retro style metal sign from Pedlars ‘Slow Children at Play” a great sign to have in a home work space – rings so true! Priced at £120 it’s a little statement art purchase – but oh so cool.
And whilst we’re over at Pedlars… I’d really quite love one of these old school clocks. I have a thing about nice old clocks. I think they tell the time so much better, don’t you? An old USA iconic Simplex school clock will set you back £79.
And finally, I’d also like these vintage looking HOME wooden blocks priced at £12.45 from White Shore because I know whilst I’m chatting on the phone I can keep rearranging them…. it’s the small things that make us happy!
And now on with the actual project!
