You can pile on loads of salads – serve this lamb doner kebab meat in toasted pitta breads with loads of salads and fresh crunchy vegetables. And if you want to keep it healthy…. skip the side of spicy French fries.

Packed with flavour – we add plenty of garlic and warming spices to the minced lamb, so that it’s really flavourful.

Ingredients For Air Fryer Doner Kebab

Everything you need to make our tasty fakeaway doner kebab in the air fryer

Ingredients to make air fryer doner kebabs including; olive oil, red onion, garlic, paprika, oregano, lamb mince
  • 500g lamb mince (around 18oz ground lamb)
  • 1 small red onion
  • 4 cloves garlic

For the doner kebab seasoning

  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • pinch cayenne pepper
  • salt and pepper to season

Cooks Note – you can use shop bought ready mixed doner kebab seasoning if you prefer.

To serve

  • 4 pitta bread
  • 1/2 iceberg lettuce shredded
  • 1/2 cucumber – sliced
  • 1/4 red cabbage – sliced
  • garlic yogurt sauce
  • chilli sauce

How To Make A Doner Kebab In The Air Fryer

Step by step instructions for making a delicious air fryer doner kebab

Step One make and season the lamb doner kebab meat

  • Add the onion and garlic to the food processor and blitz until chopped really finely.
  • Then tip in the lamb mince, ground cumin and coriander, smoked paprika, dried oregano, pinch of cayenne, salt and black pepper.
  • Pulse until it’s all mixed together smoothly.

Step Two shape the doner kebab meat

  • Take a sheet of foil and rub it with the olive oil.
  • Tip the lamb mixture onto the foil and form it into a big fat sausage shape (be sure to do this no larger than the size of your air fryer basket).
  • Wrap the lamb tightly in foil and scrunch the ends.

Step Three – air fry the doner kebab meat

  • Place the lamb in the air fryer basket and air fry on 180C for 25 minutes.
  • Then carefully unwrap the foil and continue to cook the doner kebab meat on 200C for 5-10 minutes until the outside browns up nicely.
  • Check the centre of the doner kebab is a minimum of 75C and if it’s not, continue to cook until it is.

Step Four – serve the air fryer doner kebab

  • Then remove the doner kebab from the airfryer onto a board, let it rest for 5 minutes, then carve the doner meat into slices using a sharp knife.
  • Serve with the toasted pitta breads, salads and sauces.
