- 28oz can diced tomatoes (2 x 400g cans chopped tomatoes)

How To Make Spicy Spaghetti Sauce
This is such an easy pasta sauce to make - plus we've put loads of add-ins below so you can switch things up a little
Step One - fry the garlic
- Add the olive oil to a saucepan over a medium heat and gently fry the garlic for around a minutes (don't let it burn) you just want to infuse the olive oil with garlicky flavor.

Step Two - add the tomatoes and seasoning
- Then tip in the canned chopped tomatoes, add the Italian seasoning, the chilli flakes, and season with a good pinch of sea salt and a pinch of ground black pepper.

Step Three - simmer the spicy spaghetti sauce
- Bring the sauce to the boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer and cook for 15 minutes, with the lid off so that the sauce reduces and thickens.
Step Four - serve the spaghetti sauce
- To serve, stir through freshly cooked spaghetti or pasta shapes, and save a cup full of the pasta cooking water, to loosen the spicy spaghetti sauce if needed.

What To Serve With Spicy Spaghetti
We usually keep this dish super simple and serve the tomato sauce just tossed through freshly cooked spaghetti or linguine.
And I usually serve scattered with parmesan cheese shavings or a ball of mozzarella in each bowl, drizzled with olive oil and toss over some torn fresh basil leaves.

Recipe Variations And Add-Ins
Quick and easy ways to add a twist to your spicy spaghetti sauce
Add some protein
You can add some chicken, sausage, salami, chorizo, ground beef or shrimps into this dish, they all cook quickly and taste really good.
Make it creamy
Turn this into a silky, creamy dish and mix in some heavy cream or stir through some mascarpone cheese. When I turn this into a creamy sauce, I blitz with an immersion blender so the sauce is smooth.
Make it extra spicy
If you love your spaghetti sauce to come with a good kick of heat. Then add in some freshly chopped red chilli peppers. Or infuse the olive oil with red chilis or red chili flakes before adding the garlic.
