Ingredients for ranch chicken sandwich including; sliced tomato, iceberg lettuce, Sliced chicken breast with ranch dressing, panini

For the seasoned chicken

  • 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts (butterfly them if they’re chunky)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp dried parsley

For the ranch chicken sandwich

  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing – use shop bought or make your own.
  • 2 panini rolls – sliced in halves (you can use any bread buns you like)
  • 1 little gem lettuce – shredded
  • 2 vine tomatoes – sliced

How To Make And Easy Ranch Chicken Sandwich

To make the seasoned chicken

Step One – prepare the chicken breasts

  • Butterfly the chicken breasts (so they cook quickly)

Step Two – season the chicken breasts

  • Place the chicken breasts in a shallow bowl, add the olive oil and seasonings, sprinkle with salt and black pepper and toss around so that both sides of the chicken are coated.

Step Threeair fry the seasoned chicken

  • Then air fry on 400F/200C for around 15 minutes or until cooked through properly (flip the chicken over half way through cooking and check that the chicken is cooked using a digital food thermometer)

Cooks Note – remember that thicker chicken will take longer to cook than thinner chicken. Always check chicken is cooked through properly before eating.

Step Four – shred the chicken

  • Allow the chicken to cool, before shredding with two forks ready to make up the sandwich.

Step One – make the ranch chicken sandwich filler

  • Place the shredded chicken mixture in a bowl and pour over the ranch dressing, toss the chicken so it’s fully coated with creamy ranch sauce.

Step Two – warm the panini

  • Warm the paninis – you can do this using the air fryer on bake setting for around 4-5 minutes, or under the broiler/grill or toaster.

Step Three – make the ranch chicken sandwich

  • Then make up the sandwich – butter the bread (if using butter) then load on the fresh shredded lettuce, the vine tomatoes and the creamy ranch chicken sandwich filler. Put the top on the sandwich and eat.

Recipe Tips And Variations

Add some spice – if you like a little kick of heat with your cool ranch chicken sandwich filler, throw in a pinch of red pepper flakes.

Add some extra toppings – you can add in some crispy bacon or grated Cheddar cheese. They go great with creamy chicken.

Add in more veggies – you could air fryer some mushrooms, zucchini (courgette) or bell peppers and pile them onto your chicken sandwich.
