When I make this smoothie it tends to serve two of the kids – I like them to drink homemade smoothies but obviously I know it’s better for them to eat the actual fruits whole not blitzed so I do keep portion sizes on the smaller side.

Spinach and Kiwi smoothie is a really good breakfast smoothie for kids, naturally sweet so it appeals to them and I feel good because it counts towards their 5-a-day.

What to give kids for breakfast with smoothies…

My kids tend to have this smoothie with either wholegrain toast with butter and marmite or a bowl of cereal – Shreddies or Readybrek are the most popular choices here.

Can I make the smoothie vegan or dairy free?

You can easily switch our smoothie recipe to be dairy free and suitable for vegans – just switch out the natural yogurt for a plant based yogurt.

Do I need to add honey or sugar to the smoothie?

It’s totally not necessary to add any honey or sugar, this smoothie has a natural delicious sweet taste, which even though it’s packed with spinach really appeals to kids.
