Here at Daisies & Pie we just LOVE hotdogs! So we’ve teamed up with Bunlimited to try out their tasty range of easy to cook hotdogs, sauces and toppings for that gourmet hotdog vibe at home!

I love the idea of hotdog kits with dogs, toppings and sauces, it just makes creating a hotdog night so super easy.

You can cook the hotdogs in the microwave and they take just 2 minutes, so you can have dinner ready in less than 10 minutes which is just brilliant for when you’re cooking for a family.

Mexican hotdogs are great for when the teens have friends around – they can just cook and top them for themselves.

It’s well worth keeping a couple of packets of the Bunlimited hotdogs in the cupboard for a quick and easy dinner or as a standby snack!

First up… I can’ resist Mexican Hotdogs! I literally couldn’t wait to cook these and devour them.

Nice soft brioche rolls stuffed with a juicy, tender hot and spicy hotdog sausages. Then generously topped with spicy tomato salsa, grated cheddar cheese, Bunlimited chipotle sauce, chopped avocados and a sprinkling of chopped cilantro. And that is HOTDOG PERFECTION!

Mexican Hotdogs Ingredients

  • 4 Brioche Hotdog Rolls – you can use ordinary rolls or crusty baguette style rolls if you prefer. Alternatively try using tacos.
  • pack of Bunlimited Spicy Mexican Hotdogs – the spicy ones work really well with this recipe but feel free to use the classic hotdogs instead.
  • Tub Bunlimited Crispy Onions – these add a lovely little crunch!
  • Tub Tomato Salsa – go for plain or spicy salsa or you could even make your own if you like. Try our homemade salsa recipe here .
  • 1 Avocado – chopped into cubes – toss in a little lime juice to stop it browning.
  • 1 Bottle Bunlimited Chipotle Sauce – oh so perfect for Mexican hotdogs!
  • 100g Grated Cheddar Cheese – you can swap this for any cheese you prefer.

How to make Mexican Hotdogs

Our loaded gourmet hotdogs are super easy to make and you can have them ready in less than 10 minutes!

  • First up – split your brioche hotdog rolls, you can toast them a little if you like or you can just leave them as they are.
  • Next, remove all the packaging from the Bunlimited Hotdogs and place them onto a plate in the microwave. They take 2 minutes on high in a 600w microwave, so you may need to adjust the cooking time depending on the microwave oven you have.
  • Whilst the hotdogs are cooking, halve, de-stone, peel and chop the avocado into small cubes.
  • Grate the cheese.
  • Once the hotdogs are cooked just slide them into the hotdog rolls and load on the toppings – salsa, cheese, chipotle sauce, avocado and finish with the crispy onions on top. That’s it, super easy and super delicious!

Hotdog Toppings – Prawn Cocktail

A juicy Bunlimited classic hotdog topped with creamy prawn cocktail spiked with freshly chopped dill. Oh YES this is a good thing!

This unusual hotdog topping combo just works oh so well, it’s kinda like a surf and turf vibe, a great hotdog idea and so tasty.

How to make a surf & turf hotdog

  • 1 Brioche Roll
  • 1 Classic Hot Dog
  • 50g Cooked Prawns
  • 1 heaped tbs Marie Rose Sauce
  • 1 tsp chopped dill

Cook the hotdog as per the packet instructions. As it cooks stir the prawns into the Marie Rose sauce. Then load up your hotdog – add the hotdog sausage, then pile on the prawn cocktail and sprinkle over the chopped dill.

Hotdog Toppings – Bacon & Corn

A delicious classic Bunlimited hotdog in a soft brioche roll topped with crispy bacon bits, charred corn and a generous drizzling of Bunlimited Honey Mustard sauce and drizzle of BBQ sauce.

How to make a bacon and corn hotdog

  • 1 Brioche Roll
  • 1 Classic Hot Dog
  • 1-2 slices of bacon
  • 1 mini corn cob
  • Drizzle of Bunlimited honey mustard sauce
  • Drizzle of BBQ sauce

Cook the hotdog as per the packet instructions. Slice the fresh corn kernels from the corn cob and put them and the bacon into a frying pan to cook.

Once cooked snip the bacon into pieces and load up your hotdog – add the hotdog sausage, then sprinkle on the bacon and corn and drizzle over the Bunlimited honey and mustard sauce and a drizzle of BBQ sauce.

A delicious classic Bunlimited hotdog tucked in a soft brioche roll with slices of Swiss cheese and then topped with tangy sauerkraut and a generous drizzling of Bunlimited Honey Mustard sauce. I think this is my favourite way to eat hotdogs! It makes my mouth water just thinking of it.

  • 1 Brioche Roll
  • 1 Classic Hot Dog

Cook the hotdog as per the packet instructions. Once cooked load up your hotdog – add the sliced cheese inside the bun then slide in the hotdog sausage, then top with the sauerkraut and a drizzle of Bunlimited honey and mustard sauce.

Cook the hotdog as per the packet instructions. Once cooked load up your hotdog – add the sliced hard boiled egg into one side the bun then slide in the hotdog sausage, then top with the warmed baked beans and a drizzle of tomato ketchup.
