Monthly Cleaning Schedule
These are the monthly housework chores that help me to keep the family home well organised, fresh and clean and a nice place to come home to.
Clean The Windows Inside - Monthly Cleaning Schedule
The inside windows can get covered in handprints and pet smudges. So it's a good idea to clean them at least once a month.
You can do this using hot water with dish washing soap and a splash of white vinegar - get our homemade window cleaner spray instructions here. Or you can just but a shop bought window cleaner and wipe them down using kitchen paper towels.
Clean The Windows Outside - Monthly Cleaning Checklist
The outside windows really need cleaning once a month. You can choose to have a window cleaning service take care of this for you. Or grab our window cleaning kit tips here for all the tool recommendations for cleaning outdoor windows.
Clean The Front Door, Door Furniture And Outdoor Light
At least once a month, take time to wipe down the front door, clean the door number and door furniture. It's also a good idea to sweep the steps, clear away any weeds.
I usually use Brasso or Silvo for door furniture - it makes them really shiny!
And if you have an outdoor light, give this a wipe over too so it stays clean and looking good.
Clean Window Dressings - Monthly Cleaning Schedule
Take time once a month to vacuum window vents, window blinds and curtains. Looking after window dressings properly, just means they stay looking good for longer.
If you have window blinds, these really need wiping at least one a month so they don't get grubby.
Throwing a party and worried about the mess? Here’s how to clean up the house after a party!
Monthly Cleaning Schedule - Vacuum Behind Large Appliances
At least once a month it's a good idea to pull out large appliances, like fridges, dishwashers, washing machines and especially tumble driers. Vacuum all the dust and fluff that gathers behind them. And push them back.
