Mud & Bloom kids subscription box is a monthly box of fun designed to inspire your kids to connect with nature with fun and educational activities
What’s in a Mud & Bloom box?
It’s a kids subscription box filled with a range of fun wildlife, nature and gardening activities which reflect the season and month. Each month delivers a different collection of activities to do and make.
May’s Mud & Bloom Box Contents
The one thing we really LOVE is that all these activities are packed inside a little box that fits through the letter box – so there’s no need to be in to take delivery or sign for it.
The Mud & Bloom activities for May…
- Bark and leaf rubbing
- Making pressed flower bookmarks
- Growing your own poppies
- Growing some sweetcorn
- Going looking for bees and trying to identify them
Each Mud & Bloom box comes complete with easy to follow instruction cards for all the activities.
What age range do Mud & Bloom boxes appeal to?
The Mud & Bloom kids subscription boxes are tailored to appeal to kids from 3-8 years old so the younger ones will need more help to understand and do the activities, but older children can enjoy some of the activities independently which is great!
How long do the Mud & Bloom boxes take to do?
We like to make the boxes and activities las the month, so we just do a little as and when we fancy. It’s lovely to get kids focussed and interested in nature and away from screen activities.
Our favourite nature activities from the Mud & Bloom kids subscription box
We already have a little area in the garden which we save for wildflowers so adding a whole lot more poppies was a good thing! And just look at the concentration on that little face as he plants them up!
Doing leaf and bark rubbings
This is a great activity and one kids can enjoy going off and doing on their own – trying out different leaves and different barks and creating patterns. Totally lovely way to combine nature and art.
It was lovely to big up bees and to try to work out what kind of bees were in the garden. We’d also saved a couple of tired out bees recently with a little sugar water so actually knowing what kind of bees they were was interesting.
We’ve still got our little bookmarks to make as our flowers are still pressing. And the corn he planted himself… somewhere, I guess I’ll know where when it grows!

Are the Mud & Bloom kids subscription boxes worth the money?
Well this is our second month of doing Mud & Bloom boxes – you can read our April Box Review here. We’d say they’re definitely worth the money – they offer a simple, well curated box of crafts that combines nature and art perfectly and presents it in a genuinely interesting way.
Again I’d say these make great gifts that grandparents or aunts and uncles could look at buying for Christmas or birthdays.
