20 minute workouts are great! I like to keep fit because it helps my self-esteem and boosts my confidence and mood, making me feel happier and healthier. I like to do a 20 minute workout everyday apart from Sunday’s (just so I don’t tire myself out or overwork my muscles).
I usually do this workout every evening during term time or in the morning if it’s school holidays and I’m feeling lazier.
In 20 minutes I can usually fit in the following.
- 40 sit ups
- 10 minutes of hula hooping – using a weighted hoop
- 20 leg raises on each leg – like the ones in the DAREBEE video here
- 20 squats – check out the Squats for Beginners video here
- 20 flutter kicks – like the ones in the DAREBEE video here
I’ve built up to this workout and repetition number over at least a year so it’s easy for me to get through the exercises quickly.
I love to do this workout as it really helps me focus and stop procrastinating over school work – clears my mind so I can focus better and get through all the homework and revision I have to do.
And I find it way easier to exercise when it is spring and summer as the nicer weather gets me in the mood to keep fit and healthy and feel good about myself.
Disclaimer – I’m just sharing the workout I do and it’s suited to me, if you are starting a workout routine, be sure it’s at your fitness level and take advice from parents, PE teacher or trained fitness coach so you don’t injure yourself.
