New York Pastrami Sandwich Ingredients

You’ll just need a handful of delicious sandwich ingredients to make our yummy American sandwich recipe

Here’s what to put in a pastrami sandwich

  • 4 slices of rye bread
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 little gem lettuce – washed and dried
  • 2 vine tomatoes – sliced
  • 8 thin slices of pastrami
  • 4 slices of Emmental cheese

How To Make A New York Pastrami Sandwich

It’s super easy to make our easy deli sandwich recipe and takes hardly any time!

Step One – make the mustard mayo

  • Mix the mustard into the mayonnaise and stir well to combine into a lovely mustard mayonnaise spread.
  • Spread the mustard mayo onto one side of all the slices of rye bread. Aim to use around a quarter on each slice.

Step Two – what to put in a pastrami sandwich

  • Put two slices of the rye bread onto the bread board and layer them up – Emmental cheese, pastrami, more cheese, sliced vine tomatoes then lettuce. Season with a pinch of sea salt and black pepper if using.
  • Place the other slice of mustard mayonnaise spread rye bread onto the top and squash down. Slice into half and then eat!
