Persil have created a new and improved washing up liquid which not only cleans 1400 more dishes than before, it promises to deliver sparkling results and it comes in a new lighter weight, kinder to the environment bottle with six fragrances to choose from.
But… before we get to the washing up the serious business of cooking and eating needs to happen. They’ve got that covered too! Persil want you to make a little promise… A promise to get cooking with the kids! In a recent survey Persil discovered that a whopping 88% of parents avoid cooking with their kids because they worry about the mess!
GAH! That’s far too many – teaching kids how to cook is a life skill – without the knowledge of cooking being passed from generation to generation there would be no cakes… no shepherds pie to come home to… no roast dinner after football on a Sunday…
Persil Washing Up Liquid has launched a ‘cook with the kids’ promise, aimed at getting 100,000 parents to sign up to spend time baking and making a mess with their kids in the kitchen. I’ve made my promise (although my kids are already rather good at making a mess in the kitchen, well, the kitchen, the bedroom, the living room and anywhere else they happen to be for that matter…)
To give the new Persil Washing Up Liquid a good trial – we’ve been making a lot more mess recently.
And with the life skill of cooking, follows the life skill of cleaning up your own mess. So with a cup of tea in hand, I’m sitting back and teaching them the skill of washing up the best way possible – filling the sink with hot soapy water, passing them a brush and letting them get on with it as I throw helpful instruction over the brim of my cup of tea.
And what did the kids think of Persil’s new formula? “it was bubbly, minty, smelled like fresh air and good for getting stuff clean”
And what did the kids think of their new job of washing up? “it’s not fair, it’s too hard work’ it takes too long”
Life skills are always the hardest to learn.
If you sign up to the Cook With The Kids Promise you can download a fab brochure filled with hints and tips for getting kids busy cooking in the kitchen and also some really tasty recipes – from fruit dippers to corn fritters and even a rather fab Lasagne alla bolognese. You could also win prizes such as a kids baking set or a birthday party up to the value of £500.
