- Large saucepan
- Glass or stainless steel bowl
- Metal spoon
- 24 cupcake cases
- Tablespoon
- Tray
Popcorn Cake Ingredients
- 400g White Chocolate – broken into pieces
- 80g Popcorn – choose salted or plain, whichever you prefer
- 4 tbsp Cake Sprinkles – just choose your favourite
How To Make Popcorn Cakes
Our white chocolate popcorn cakes with unicorn sprinkles are just super easy to make!
Step One – melt the chocolate
If cooking with kids – they should be kept well away from the boiling water and hob
- Set a glass or metal bowl over a pan of boiling water – break up the white chocolate pieces and put them into the bowl, stir with a spoon over the water until the chocolate melts.
Step Two – stir in the popcorn
- Stir in the popcorn into the melted chocolate so that all the popcorn gets coated in creamy melted chocolate.
Step Three – divide the chocolate coated popcorn between the cupcake cases
- Spoon the chocolate popcorn mixture into the cupcake cases and sprinkle over the cake sprinkles.
Step Four – refrigerate the cakes to set
- The popcorn cakes will just need an hour or so in the fridge to set. Then they’re ready to eat!
Popcorn Cake Cases

These little white chocolate popcorn cakes look super nice in pastel paper cupcake cases to match the unicorn confetti sprinkle colours.
You could always make these with dark sprinkles or shiny silver and gold sprinkles and choose cupcake cases to coordinate.
And to make them for Halloween, coat the popcorn in dark chocolate and top with halloween cake sprinkles or Christmas themed with festive cake sprinkles.

Popcorn Cake Bars
You can easily turn your chocolate popcorn cakes into cake bars.
To do this just line a tin with greaseproof paper and tip the popcorn cake batter into the tin.
Then flatten down with the back of a spoon and sprinkle over the coloured confetti sprinkles.
All you need to do then is to leave them to set in the fridge for a couple of hours before slicing into cake bars.
