Recipe Tips And Ingredient Swaps

Don’t forget to keep a cup of the pasta water! you will need this to loosen up the sauce, so be sure to dunk a cup in and save some water before draining the pasta.

Add in some veggies – you can add in some extra vegetables if you like – try sliced mushrooms, peas or wilted spinach, they all work well with a creamy pasta sauce and cook quickly. You could also scatter the pasta with fresh rocket or fresh parsley leaves.

Add some extra protein – you can add in some chicken breast to this dish, just fry it with the bacon and adjust the cooking times accordingly.

Make it gluten free – this is easy to convert to gluten-free. Just be sure to use gluten free spaghetti and check the ingredient label on all other ingredients used to make certain you’re using certified gluten free ingredients.
