Ingredients For Easy Dough Balls
Everything you need to make yummy dough balls with a delicious garlicky butter dip
For the dough balls
- 400g pizza dough (you can use shop bought dough - we used Pizza Express dough)
For the garlic butter dip
- 150g salted butter
- 3 cloves garlic - peeled and grated using the fine side on the grater
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley - you can use fresh parsley finely chopped if you prefer
- pinch ground black pepper
How To Make Easy Garlic Dough Balls
You'll LOVE how simple these bread balls are to make and cook
Step One - preheat the oven
- Preheat the oven to 200C/400F/Gas mark 6.
Step Two - shape the dough balls
- Break the dough into ping pong sized balls, roll into balls, using the palm of your hand, rolling the dough against the worktop.
- Place the dough ball onto a baking sheet lined with greaseproof or baking paper. Bake in the oven for around 10 minutes or until the dough balls are cooked through and just starting to lightly colour.


Step Three - make the garlic butter dip
- Whilst the dough balls are baking make a quick garlic butter dip.
- Melt the butter in a saucepan, add the grated garlic cloves a teaspoon of dried parsley and a pinch of black pepper and stir until melted.
Step Four - serve the easy dough balls
- Pour the garlic butter into a serving bowl.
- Add the dough balls to a serving platter with the buttery dip and serve straight away whilst they're still warm.

What Do Garlic Dough Balls Go With?
You can serve garlic dough balls with lots of different dishes, but they tend to go really well with Italian food like pasta dishes or pizza.
Helpful Tips
You don't need to be neat - dough balls are rustic, you don't need to be neat here, they'll taste good even if they're messy!
Try keep the dough balls evenly sized - keeping the dough balls roughly the same size means they'll cook evenly.
Don't overcook them - you don't want these golden brown and hard, you want them very lightly colouring and still squidgy and soft to eat.
Make the dip with olive oil - if you prefer you could swap the butter for olive oil and make a garlicky oil dip instead.
