Our quick prawn salad recipe is great for a busy weeknight dinner. It’s tasty, healthy and super quick to throw together.
This delicious seafood salad is one of my go-to dinner recipes when the kids have already eaten tea early and I’m just cooking for myself and my husband.
If I’m eating dinner late then I prefer a light salad to heavy meal, it just feels fresher and healthier!

How to make quick salad

Well… we’re going to cheat with the ingredients. When I want dinner ready fast, cheating is the best way for me to do that.
I buy ready prepared and ready cooked ingredients so all I really have to do is toss the food together and make it look pretty. And for midweek dinner for two, I’m good with that!
Spicy Prawn Salad Ingredients
- Bag of prepared salad leaves (I use a Bistro mix)
- 1/4 cucumber – sliced
- 200g baby tomatoes – halved
- 1 lemon cut into wedges
- 200g cooked king prawns
- 2 tbs spicy salad dressing (I use an Oriental style dressing with garlic, ginger and soy)
How to make spicy prawn salad
- Just scatter the salad leaves, cucumbers and tomatoes over two plates.
- Toss over the cooked prawns and drizzle over the spicy dressing.
Make the salad your way
- Switch the prawns for cooked chicken or salmon
- Add more salad veggies
- Use a milder dressing – this works well with Caesar dressing

How to serve prawn salad

- Perfect for a quick midweek dinner for two.
- Leftovers great in packed lunches.
- I like to just serve this salad with a couple of slices of garlic and herb ciabatta. But you can make it more of a meal by adding a side of rice or grains, potato wedges or French fries.

- 1/4 cucumber - sliced
- 150g baby plum tomatoes cut into halves
- 1 lemon cut into wedges
- 200g cooked king prawns
- 2 tbs spicy oriental style salad dressing
Instructions
- Scatter the salad ingredients over two plates.
- Scatter over the cooked prawns
- Drizzle over the spicy salad dressing.
