Retro Prawn Cocktail

Sharing is caring!

Sometimes only a retro prawn cocktail will do! Juicy prawns tossed in Marie Rose sauce served on a bed of freshly chopped salad. Perfect!

There’s nothing better than a home made prawn cocktail salad.

It’s the perfect little starter recipe and super simple to make.

Our prawn cocktail has juicy prawns in Marie Rose sauce, served on crisp iceberg lettuce, half moon cucumber slices and juicy ripe tomatoes.

And it’s always served with buttered wholemeal bread and a lemon wedge.

This retro starter was always served up in the 70’s and 80’s at dinner parties and was always the starter of choice for Christmas Dinner!

And hey! If starters aren’t your thing, this makes a quick and easy lunch recipe or turn it into a delicious prawn cocktail sandwich instead.

I love this eaten just as a prawn salad – it’s a lovely light summery lunch idea.
