Here's How To Do Roast Potatoes In An Air Fryer
Step One – peel and dice the potatoes
- Peel the potatoes and cut them up into cubes of around 1.5 inches square.
- Put the potatoes into a pan of water to soak for at least 30 mins before air frying. (don't add any salt)
Cooks Note! If you like to prep-ahead then you can leave the potatoes soaking in water for up to 8-10 hours. If soaking for more than an hour then store them in the fridge and keep them chilled.
Step Two - preheat the air fryer whilst you dry and season the potatoes
- Switch the air fryer on to 180C whilst you prep the potatoes.
Step Three - dry the potatoes
- Drain the potatoes and then dry using kitchen paper towels.

Cooks Note! Dry potatoes air fry a whole lot better and crisp up more easily. Damp, wet potatoes tend to steam not crisp!
Step Four - season the potatoes
- Tip the dry potatoes into a mixing bowl.
- Pour on the olive oil and tip in the seasonings - oregano, smoked paprika and dried garlic. Season with salt and black pepper if you're using. Toss everything together.

Step Five - roast potatoes in an air fryer
How long to cook roast potatoes in air fryer?
