How To Make Sardine Pasta
Okay, you're going to just LOVE how quick and easy our sardine and tomato pasta is to prepare and cook!
Step One - put the pasta on to cook
- Cook the tagliatelle as per the packet instructions - we use dry tagliatelle so it takes around 10 minutes in boiling salted water. Fresh tagliatelle takes a lot less time.
Step Two - whilst the pasta cooks make the sardine pasta sauce
- Heat the olive oil in the large frying pan, and tip in the canned sardines. Add the oil and finely chop the chilli to if you like things extra spicy.

- Once you've fried the tinned sardines for a few minutes and broken them up in the pan, it's time to add the passata, black olives, capers and chilli flakes.

- Give everything a good stir up together to mingle all the flavours throughout the sauce. And season with salt and cracked black pepper.
- Simmer the sardine pasta sauce with the lid off for around 8 minutes, until the pasta has finished cooking.

Step Three - add the pasta to the sardine sauce
- Once the pasta is cooked, scoop out a tea cup full of water and then drain the pasta using the colander.

- Toss the pasta into the pan with the delicious sardine puttanesca sauce, and give everything a mix together so all the pasta is coated in sauce. If you need to loosen the sauce just add a splash of the pasta water you saved.
