How To Make Slow Cooker Chicken Korma

Our dump-and-go slow cooker chicken curry dish is ideal for those hectic days when you don’t really have time to cook at all.

Step One – Heat the slow cooker

  • Heat the slow cooker to low for 6-8 hours cooking time or high for a 3-4 hour cooking time. All slow cookers cook at different temperatures and speeds, so just be sure to check your chicken is thoroughly cooked before eating.

Step Two – Add the chicken korma with coconut milk ingredients

  • Toss the chicken breast pieces in the korma curry paste (you can do this the night before if you like and leave in the fridge overnight ready to put in the slow cooker in the morning)
  • Add the passata, marinated chicken breast pieces, coconut milk, chopped onion, chopped chilli and a pinch of salt into the slow cooker pan.
  • Give all the ingredients a stir together then put the lid on and cook on low for around 6 hours or until the chicken is cooked through thoroughly to a minimum core temperature of 75C.

Step Three – Stir in the ground almonds

  • When the slow cooker chicken korma is cooked through, tip in two tbsp of ground almonds and stir through the sauce. This will thicken the sauce and give it a lovely creamy, nutty almond taste.

Step Four – Serve the creamy korma recipe

  • Scatter the top of the spicy chicken korma with flaked almonds and a scattering of coriander leaves if you have them.
