We just love Halloween here at Daisies & Pie... but a non-scary version works best for us. Carving a pumpkin is a great way to celebrate Halloween with the kids.

We go for a super cute pumpkin face that's super easy to do - kids just love getting right in there and pulling out all the yucky pumpkin inners!

This year we've saved the seeds to try grow our own pumpkins for next Halloween.

Top tips for pumpkin carving

• draw your design onto the pumpkin in light coloured biro prior to carving.
• get yourself a pumpkin carving set - just a mini set of pumpkin knife and poker - makes the job much easier.
• make sure your pumpkin is room temperature - makes it easier to carve.
