As a mum of three children, keeping them safe is my number one priority. Anything I can do to help keep them safe and to minimise risks of accidents or injuries is super important.
At home this includes things like having a working carbon monoxide detector and working smoke detectors which are checked every week. Getting the boiler serviced regularly and keeping medicines locked away are just more little day to day things that help keep them safe and well.
When travelling in the car I always ensure they’re sat in the correct child-seats for their weight and height and always make sure seat belts are fastened.
When Kwik Fit challenged me to take their Tyre Quiz to see just how much I know about tyre safety, I wasn’t expecting to score too highly… tyres and cars just aren’t my strong point. Having completed the test I did mange to score 6 out of 10 which although I was pleased with, showed me there’s definitely room for improvement.
The Tyre Challenge Quiz did however make me way more aware of just how important it is to check tyres regularly and highlighted the fact that more tyre related incidents happen on the roads during the summer time than at any other time of year. So for my own peace of mind – giving the tyres the once over before heading off on a day trip or holiday is definitely something I’ll now be doing.
It’s definitely prompted me to be more proactive in keeping on top of car servicing and having tyres checked. Heading over to Kwik Fit just makes this quick and simple for me to do, instead of leaving it all up to my husband….
