Looking for a new twist on classic bolognese? Try this mouthwatering easy lamb bolognese recipe that is simple to make and absolutely bursting with flavour!

Why You’ll LOVE This Lamb Bolognese

Packed with flavour – hands down this is the BEST bolognese sauce we’ve ever made. Switching the regular beef mince to lamb mince just makes the whole dish way more tasty.

Super easy – our lamb bolognese recipe is super easy to make, and you can throw this in the slow cooker if you prefer.

Warming spices – instead of the traditional bolognese simmered in red wine, tomato paste with bay leaves. Our bolognese uses warming spices and plenty of garlic, that give the meat sauce a delicious Greek vibe, and sprinkling with crumbled feta and mint leaves really brings out the depth of flavor.

Recipe Tips And Ingredient Swaps

Easy recipe tips and ingredient swaps to make this bolognese your own

Tasty Ingredient Swaps

Add more vegetables – if you want to bulk this meal up so it feeds more people, or so you have a good quantity of leftovers, add in a can of green or brown lentils to the lamb mince. You may also need to add around half a can extra of chopped tomatoes – just use your judgement.

You could also add in grated carrots, courgette (zucchini) or some finely sliced mushrooms if you like.

How To Store Leftover Lamb Bolognese

Leftover lamb bolognese can be cooled and stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 48 hours. Alternatively you can freeze the bolognese in a freezer safe container for up to 3 months. Defrost thoroughly before reheating.

How To Reheat Lamb Bolognese

To reheat the bolognese tip it into a saucepan and heat on the hob over a low heat until it is piping hot throughout. Stir the bolognese often as you reheat so that it heats up evenly. You can check the reheated temperature is high enough using a digital food thermometer. (we totally recommend this for peace of mind when reheating food!)
