Recipe Tips And Variations

Make Ahead – Spider Web Pizza

When making ahead of time we serve these as a cold pizza snack. If you make ahead, cook, cool quickly and then store in an airtight container in the fridge.

Alternatively, just prep the pizzas so they’re ready to cook. Add the toppings, store in the fridge in an air tight container or trays wrapped in cling film. Then cook and serve.

You can make them up to 1-day in advance.

Different Toppings

You can get creative in the kitchen and use different toppings to make your spider shapes from. You could try mushrooms or peppers to make the spiders. And if you fancy a kick of heat, sprinkle over some red pepper flakes.

I don’t recommend using mozzarella cheese as it tends to melt more and ruin the spider web pattern.

Can I Use Pizza Dough To Make Spider Web Pizza?

Yes, if you prefer you can make larger versions of these mini pizzas using sheets of ready to use pizza dough, or ready to top round pizza bases in stead of English muffins.

Can I Make Them Gluten Free?

Yes, and it’s really easy! Just swap the English muffins for a gluten free version and double check that all the toppings you use are labelled up as gluten-free too.

Vegan Mini Spider Pizzas

You can swap this to be a vegan pizza, just use vegan cheese and make sure all other ingredients you choose are vegan too.

Can I Bake Pizza Muffins In The Oven?

Yes, if you prefer to bake these little spider pizza in the oven, you can place them on a baking sheet and cook at 200C for around 8-10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and turning golden.

If you’re cooking a large batch of pizza muffins, then oven baking is probably easier than the grill.

Can I Cook Them In The Air Fryer?

No, the toppings are too light, the air circulation in the air fryer is too strong and blows the toppings off!
