BLT Sandwich

Sharing is caring!

Our BLT Sandwich Recipe makes a delicious take to work lunch or lazy Sunday morning brunch.

Delicious white rolls, stuffed with crispy bacon, slices of juicy vine tomatoes, cool crisp Iceberg lettuce and a generous drizzle of creamy mayonnaise.

I usually make up trays of these tasty BLT’s for weekend brunch and serve with juice and fruit platters. They just make a really simple lunch that’s great when all the family are home or you’re feeding a crowd.

If you’re doing a brunch party then these BLT’s go great with our cereal yogurt pots and fruit platter. Just throw them all together on the table and let everyone help themselves.

I find these BLT’s just so super easy to make for weekends and holidays when everyone is home.

⭐️ Quick and easy to make – you can make these BLT sandwich platters by the tray load.

⭐️ So delicious and packed with flavor!

⭐️ Super simple and great as part of a brunch.

Ultimate BLT Ingredients

  • Bread – you can make these on any bread you like, crusty rolls, soft sub style rolls, wholegrain bread, sourdough toast, whatever slice of bread you like to use when making sandwiches.
  • Lettuce – Iceberg is the best lettuce for a BLT, it stays crisp with a crunch. You can also try romaine, little gem or cos.
  • Tomato – big juicy vine tomatoes work best here.
  • Bacon – for me it has to be smoky bacon and super crispy
  • Mayonnaise – be generous with the mayo

How To Make An Ultimate BLT

Prep Time – 5 minutes / Cook Time 10 minutes

Step by step instructions below

  1. Cut open the rolls – toast if you like (butter optional)
  2. Grill or fry the bacon until crisp (or to your liking)
  3. Make up the BLT sandwiches, layer the rolls with crunchy lettuce, crispy bacon, vine tomato slices and top with a generous drizzle of creamy mayonnaise.

Bread – swap for any bread you like, try sourdough, wholegrain, sub rolls, thick sliced white bread or toasted bread. You could also make these using tortilla wraps or flatbreads.

Bacon – you can go for streaky, back bacon, thick cut bacon or thin, you could even use turkey bacon. Just choose your favorite.

Sauce – we just like the mayo version, but you could use garlic mayo, sour cream, ranch dressing, or your favorite tomato ketchup or hot sauce – this is your bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich make it your way.

Add-Ins – The best BLT sandwich for me is simple – bacon, lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise but you can absolutely try adding in some avocado slices or smashed avocado to your BLT sandwich or loading in some hard boiled eggs or shredded cheese or even some grilled chicken.

⭐ Be generous with the filling, really stuff those sandwiches

⭐ Don’t skip the mayo, it really brings a BLT together.

⭐ If making ahead, let the bacon cool completely before making the sandwiches to stop them going soggy.
