The countdown to Valentine’s Day is on and with literally just days to go the big question for the most romantic night of the year has to be – what are you going to cook for dinner?
With many couples preferring to celebrate with an intimate night at home, Hello Fresh have been finding out just what our favourite Valentine’s Day date night dishes are.
And the results are in…
The go-to date night dinner winner is a steak! We think some gorgeous chunky chips will be needed on the side here, sprinkled with sea salt flakes – steak and chips are definitely the way to our hearts!
2. Roast Dinner
A full roast dinner is the second most popular choice – we’re thinking a lemon and thyme roast chicken, crispy herby roast potatoes, fresh green veggies and an awesome gravy infused with wine would definitely be a good thing.
Coming in third place a fantastic homemade curry is really tickling our taste buds. Add a few sides like popadoms, a spiced fresh and zingy salad and delicious pickles and dips for a totally tasty laid back romantic evening.
According to the HelloFresh poll of 1,500 adults, an astonishing two-thirds of British women believe that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach – head on over to Hello Fresh to get the full Valentine’s Day 101.
How to create a great Valentine’s Day atmosphere at home
We think it’s a great idea to create a gorgeous atmosphere at home for your Valentine’s night in – little touches here and there can easily make it look like you’ve gone to a whole lot of effort for your partner.
- Make the table look amazing – put on the table cloth, light some candles, scatter around some tiny paper hearts or stems of fresh flowers.
- Get the bubbles on ice.
- Create great lighting – go for strings of fairy lights to accompany the table candles – these will give off soft pools of light – perfect for a cosy atmosphere.
- Go all out with heart balloons and garlands.
