A Waffle Board is a great idea for Easter. It’s an easy way to create a dessert that looks like it took hours to make but really only takes minutes!

SKIPPY® Peanut Butter is just our absolute favourite! Smoothly satisfying and with a great peanut butter taste just how we like it!

The whole family can enjoy the delicious taste and texture of creamy and dreamy SKIPPY® Peanut Butter, which is now widely available in the UK and a good source of protein for growing kids (which is always a good thing!)

SKIPPY® Peanut Butter is available in Extra Smooth and Extra Crunchy varieties. We’ve been whipping up an amazing Waffle Board Easter dessert that’s super easy, super fun and I’m sure you’ll LOVE it as much as we do!

You can make homemade waffles or just buy shop bought waffles and warm them – just do whichever suits you and enjoy!

Waffle Board Ingredients

For the homemade waffles – makes 4 circle waffles

  • 150g self raising flour – sifted to avoid lumpy batter
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp caster sugar – you can add a little more sugar if you like a sweeter waffle
  • 250ml milk – I use whole milk for my waffles
  • 1 egg – a medium sized egg is fine for this recipe
  • Butter for cooking – just a dab of butter for lightly greasing the waffle pan

For the waffle toppings

  • 2 heaped tbsp of SKIPPY® Peanut Butter – I use the extra smooth, but extra crunchy works well too.
  • 200g small chocolate eggs
  • 200g chocolate bunnies
  • 200g fruit (optional – choose from strawberries, raspberries or blueberries – they all go great with SKIPPY® Peanut Butter)

Equipment Needed To Make A Waffle Board

  • Waffle maker – if making your own waffles
  • Mixing bowl
  • Wooden spoon
  • Measuring jug
  • Teaspoon
  • Wooden board or serving platter
  • Small saucepan – for warming the peanut butter
  • Small bowls – for peanut butter fruit and chocolate treats
  • Small spoon – for drizzling peanut butter

How To Make A Waffle Board

You’re just going to love how easy this Easter dessert idea is to make and just how yummy it is to eat – and the hot SKIPPY® Peanut Butter drizzle is just too good!

Step One – make the fresh waffles for your waffle board

  • Mix the dry ingredients – put the flour, baking powder and caster sugar into a mixing bowl and stir gently to combine.
  • Mix into a waffle batter – make a well in the middle of the dry ingredients and crack in the egg – add a little of the milk and using a wooden spoon – stirring in small circles – gradually mix together the batter – adding more milk whenever it becomes stiff. Eventually you’ll have a smooth rich batter – pour this into a jug it just makes it so much easier for pouring into the waffle maker.
  • Heat up the waffle maker – I gently brush the waffle plates with a little melted butter and then pour in the batter – I cook these for around 6-7 minutes and don’t even peep at them before 4-5 minutes is up.
  • Flip the waffles out – once cooked flip them from the waffle maker using a plastic spatular so you don’t scratch the waffle plates. Stack them on a plate until you’re ready to put together your waffle board.

Step Two – make your hot SKIPPY® Peanut Butter drizzle

  • Simply add a couple of heaped tablespoons of SKIPPY® Peanut Butter into a small saucepan (I use a tiny milk pan for this) then warm gently over a low heat, stirring all the time.
  • After about five minutes you’ll have a lovely, smooth, creamy, dreamy, hot SKIPPY® Peanut Butter drizzle, that’s just the right consistency for drizzling generously over your waffles and waffle toppings.

Step Three – put together your waffle board

  • Take your board or platter and arrange the waffles, then scatter over the waffle toppings – little chocolate eggs and pop on the chocolate bunnies. Add some juicy berries in piles.
  • Pour the hot SKIPPY® Peanut Butter drizzle into a bowl and add a spoon for drizzling. Then drizzle some over the waffle board and leave some for people to help themselves to more as they grab a chocolatey waffle.
